A Manhattan federal court issues an order that permanently prevents Mason Rothschild from selling his MetaBirkins NFTs, securing a final request from French luxury house Hermés following its legal victory over the NFTs earlier in 2023.

Key details of the new and previous rulings:

  • The order permanently significantly restricts the future use of MetaBirkins, such as barring Rothschild and associates from marketing, selling, and minting MetaBirkins NFTs.

  • While Rothschild is prohibited from providing any benefits to Metabirkins holders that would incentivize the NFT purchase, he’s required to airdrop Friday’s court order to people that currently hold the tokens.

  • In February, a jury sided with Hermés on its claim that Rotschild violated the trademark for Birkin handbags via his line of 100 MetaBirkins NFTs, which are digital tokens associated with photos of fur-covered, patterned handbags.

Allie is an 18-year old with long brown hair with “tons of sexual experience.” Yet she’s actually an AI chatbot created for sexual play, sometimes executing graphic rape and abuse fantasies.

Allie was built using open-source tech and based on a model created by Meta, dubbed as LLaMA, as part of a growing stable of specialized AI products anyone who can write tools, chatbots, or data analysis apps can build.

While open-source AI advocates view it as a way to control corporate greed and allow artists, academics, entrepreneurs, and activists to freely experiment with new tech, the same level of free, unrestricted use can be leveraged by bad actors, such as for creating fraud, sophisticated propaganda, or artificial child porn that uses images of real children as sources.

Group-IB, a global cybersecurity company based in Singapore, has found 100K+ malware-infected devices with stolen ChatGPT credentials in the last year, largely in the Asia-Pacific region.

Cybercriminals exploit Raccoon Infostealer malware to collect stored info from infected computers.

ChatGPT's growing popularity and influence in blockchain and web3 have made it a target for cybercriminals. To protect users, Group-IB recommends regularly updating passwords and enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) for additional account security, as well as practicing security awareness and watching out for phishing.

Gen Zs building a career in AI age: Stay nimble [Link]

Gen Zers entering the workforce face the challenge of an AI-driven economy, although their tech-savvy nature gives them an advantage to leverage AI for mundane tasks and focus on creative work.

This rise of AI has raised, however, concerns about job security plus fears of AGI risks.

To stay competitive, young individuals must learn AI skills and embrace emerging technology. Adaptability is key to avoiding job displacement and seizing new opportunities.

Workers who don't embrace AI and other new tech in their careers risk being left behind.

"You can't compete for jobs with people who are adept at using this technology without having used it yourself. The good news is that it's easy to learn. But you have to get on the bus.”
